MMEP uses its research to engage the public in exploring solutions to educational barriers facing Students of Color and American Indian Students in Minnesota. This engagement begins with the Board, from which it spreads to discussions based in communities of color involving students, parents, and local civic leaders.
This process culminates every two years with the State of Students of Color & American Indian Students Conference. This biennial convening allows for educators, policymakers, students, teachers, and parents to explore implications of report findings, and creates opportunities for collaborative work in education. The 2008 conference drew over 350 people from throughout Minnesota.
